A Commuting Experiences Study

Virginia Tech researchers are recruiting participants for a research study about commuting experiences.

Participation will consist of:

  • Completion of an online opt-in survey (30 minutes)
  • An 8-week daily survey period (two, 10 minute online surveys per day; Monday-Friday)
  • Two in-person appointments in Manassas of approximately 4+ hours long (note these are drop-in appointments; participants don’t have to present the full time)
  • Installation of in-vehicle video and driving performance recording equipment in your personal vehicle during the daily survey period
  • Wearing of a wrist-worn device tracking physical activity and sleep during the daily survey period

Participants may receive $30-$500 depending on the extent of their participation.

Please note that participants must be able to drive their vehicle to a research center site in either Manassas, Virginia or Blacksburg, Virginia for the equipment installation and de-installation appointments, and that reimbursement for these costs is considered to be included in the $30-$500 in compensation that will be provided depending on the extent of participation.
