From a press release:

WHAT: Snallygaster is Neighborhood Restaurant Group’s flagship colossal beer festival organized annually since 2012. The prestigious restaurant group is recognized for their unmatched hospitality but also for their beer-centric knowledge and focus behind renowned food and beverage concepts like Churchkey, Bluejacket Brewery, Birch & Barley, Shelter and the Sovereign.

Named after the mythical Mid-Atlantic dragon, this event has been monumental in attracting a curious scope of drinkers, savvy brewers and food vendors from across the Mid-Atlantic. For one day and one day only, they’ll simultaneously unleash an unparalleled beer, cider, wine and cocktail selection alongside the best of the best in food trucks, live music on two stages, entertainment and family fun.

“We are beyond excited to continue the tradition of bringing together over 350 beers from nearly 150 breweries to Washingtonians and neighbors,” said Greg Engert, Beverage Director and Partner of Neighborhood Restaurant Group. “It’s the leading beer festival in the nation’s capital and one of the largest in the country. The best part is the social component – proceeds from Snallygaster go to supporting Arcadia, our D.C.-based non-profit organization dedicated to creating equitable and sustainable local food systems.”

WHEN: Festival – Saturday, October 8, 2022

WHERE: Pennsylvania Ave NW (between Third and Sixth Streets, NW)

HOW: Tickets can be purchased through the event’s page beginning at 10 am on Monday, August 1, 2022.

Kraken (General Admission) $65 per ticket. Includes 2:00 – 6:00PM admission, a commemorative tasting glass and unlimited beer, cider, wine and cocktail tastings.

Basilisk (VIP Early Entry) $130 per ticket. Includes 12:00 – 6:00PM admission, a commemorative tasting glass and unlimited beer, cider, wine and cocktail tastings. This ticket is key to tasting the rarest selections that may run out prior to the official 2 PM start.

WHY: Beverage Director and Partner Greg Engert curates each and every selection at Snallygaster, bringing the same laser-like approach he applies daily to his lists at Churchkey, Birch & Barley, Red Apron, Rustico, The Sovereign, Owen’s Ordinary, Shelter and more. Festival goers can expect a veritable sea of small batch, highly sought-after craft brews on draft from the finest American and international producers (many of which will make their DC debut right here, and only here), as well as a host of cask ales and locally brewed beers from renowned breweries in our region – and so much more.

Founded in 1997, Neighborhood Restaurant Group is a collective of 20+ award-winning restaurants and food and beverage businesses. From its outset, NRG has functioned as an instigator and incubator of creative, chef and beverage specialist-driven concepts. Its brands, chefs and beverage professionals have been recognized as some of the best in the business.”
