Missed Connection – “he liked my flowers”

“Dear PoPville,

Saturday (7/25 afternoon) I was walking on the Metropolitan Branch Trail with my full backpack and a bouquet of flowers from the Noma stop going towards Rhode Island when a man passed me by on a bicycle with a pull behind cart that said ‘Bee’ on it. I thought I heard him say, “I like your flowers”, but I had my headphones in and didn’t want to embarrass myself by assuming.

Further down the bike trail I saw him again, but this time he was holding onto his dogs lead while he biked and the dog was more interested in standing in the shade. When I got close we talked a little bit and you told me your dog doesn’t seem to want to get in the pull behind cart, but every time they get out to run they’re more interested in hanging out in the shade.

Before he biked off, he told me again he liked my flowers and I said thank you, I wish I had’ve said more.

It’s a long shot, but if you read this sir and you’re interested, I’d love it if we could all go on a walk together. Maybe we could go find some flowers, or coffee?”

Ed. Note: If this is you, please email [email protected] so I can put you in touch with OP. PoPville is not affiliated with either party, please proceed with any potential connection at your own risk using caution as you would any online encounter. For those curious about past missed connections, many have been made and when possible I’ll try to update when/if more are made. The Logan Circle MC was made!

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
