Your Afternoon Animal Fix – AdoPtville

If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share for the regular fix please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. AdoPtville is run by a volunteer who compiles these pets weekly from local shelters.

“I’m currently fostering a pup (in downtown Silver Spring) and was wondering if you would be able to help in finding Jasper (pic below) a forever home? He’s a small chihuahua mix and was found as a stray. I think he’d do well in an apt or single family home. He is very friendly and loves kisses and being around people. Here is more info about him on petfinder

Hi there! My name is Buntilda. I am a one-year-old brown agouti American bunny. Did you know that American Rabbits are known for their sweet temperament? It’s true – we are! I am one sweet little girl and absolutely adorable. Check out this cute little cottontail. I just arrived here, so I’ve been busy rearranging my pen – I do like decorating. I make sure to get my bunny cardio workout hopping around my pen and when I get tired, I take a nap on my little fleece blanket. I really like the simple things in life: eating hay, chewing on apple sticks, and savoring treats (fruits and veggies). I just love my greens and carrots – so yummy. I enjoy having visitors stop by – I’m one smart bunny and quickly learned that visitors can mean treats. If you hold out a treat, I’ll come get it from you. I’m a chill little gal and would make a great companion. Are you ready to add a delightful bunny to your home? If so, why don’t you set up an appointment to meet me. I’ll be waiting to show you around my pen.

I am available to meet virtually or in-person BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Learn more here.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
