Your Afternoon Animal Fix – AdoPtville

If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share for the regular fix please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. AdoPtville is run by a volunteer who compiles these pets weekly from local shelters.

Hello! My name is Guinno and I was brought in with my friend Guinothy. We would love to go home with each other (and you can adopt us both for one adoption fee)! We are curious and playful pals who will provide hours of entertainment as we scurry around our cage. We also love being around people (we find you pretty entertaining too). We love to eat fruits and vegetables-especially tomatoes and pineapple!–and to snuggle up in our pigloo. If that all sounds good to you, we’d love to be your newest roommates! To schedule a virtual meet and greet with our foster mom Julie, email [email protected]. For more information about adopting Guinno (and Guinothy) please check them out on the Humane Rescue Alliance site.

Meet Dewey! This 3 y/o, 8 lb DSH is a friendly young man who’s content to nap during the day and play when you get home from work. Once he’s adjusted to a new environment, Dewey’s personality really shines, especially during play time and meal time–two of his favorite activities! Dewey is very adaptable in his daily routine and is happy to tag along with you around the house–especially to the kitchen or any room with doors and cabinets he can explore. Super friendly and an avid snuggler, Dewey won’t be shy about requesting your love and attention. Does Dewey sound like the cat for you? He sure hopes so! Apply today here!

Meet Gepetto! This 3 y/o, 48 lb Hound mix is a confident and curious guy who is eager to interact with the world and say hi to just about every person he sees. Would you like to be greeted with an enthusiastic hoppy dance routine when you come home? That’s just what Gepetto will do for you! This fun dog likes pets and snuggles and outdoor adventures. When left to his own devices, Gepetto is well behaved and will play with his toys or spend time observing squirrels out the window. Gepetto is truly amazing at catching treats and will entertain you with his skills and lightning fast reflexes! Apply today to meet this special boy here!

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
