Your Afternoon Animal Fix – AdoPtville

If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share for the regular fix please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. AdoPtville is run by a volunteer who compiles these pets weekly from local shelters.

Meet Madge! A swirly girl with the prettiest patterned coat, sweet Madge is such a loyal companion. Upon first meeting her foster family, this 2 y/o, 7 lb DSH was timid and a little scared from her journey from the shelter, but in no time she fully embraced the joys of a loving family. Madge loves her people and is a curious, happy lady who won’t leave your side, like a little furry shadow. Readying, watching TV, or doing living room yoga? Madge is your #1 companion! She is eager to give and receive love but is also an independent lady who is happy to spend time birdwatching on her own. Are you looking for a forever friend to add to your pack? Madge is a low-key, easygoing gal searching for her equally easygoing, loving humans. Could they be you? Madge sure hopes so! Apply today here.

Meet Lady! This 1 y/o, 20 lb. Beagle mix puppy loves to be the star of the show and is endlessly entertaining. She aims to please and loves to play with all of her toys and her doggie friends. She hopes you will play with her too, and if you do, you will be well rewarded, as she is so much fun! She especially enjoys chasing chew toys and bringing them back to her person. If you’re feeling like playing a game of tug of war, don’t worry, so is Lady! She is an energetic young gal who thrives with lots of exercise and mental stimulation. Does she sound like the one for you? Apply today to adopt this lovely little Lady here.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
