How To Go Zero Waste This Holiday Season

The Rounds, a zero-waste refill and delivery service, just made their service giftable in the District.

The green startup that launched in D.C. last August is the greenest way to get your household essentials. With over 100 basic products, The Rounds delivers your essentials to your door in reusable packaging. The Rounds members simply leave empty containers out for pickup and refill, like the traditional milkman model, making it easier than ever for you to switch to zero waste.

The Rounds now offers an option for holiday gift-giving. The holiday season brings with it increased waste — between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day, the amount of trash produced in the United States increases an estimated 25%. To skip the waste this year, gift your loved ones a membership to The Rounds and save an estimated 50lbs per household per year!

All gift cards include $$$ for home basics and local faves, free membership and exclusive merch. It’s perfect for friends wanting to go green, college students out of TP, or in-laws who keep watering down the soap.

PoPville readers can gift the Rounds by visiting therounds.co/gifting.

Sign up by December 15 and get a free year of delivery with code POPVILLE at therounds.co/popville.

Walk-in service at Union Market is welcome or you can make arrangements for mail-in service on their website. Typical turn-around is less than an hour (but sometimes the queue gets long).

DMV’s professional chefs and passionate home cooks have trusted the District Cutlery with their knives for over 10 years. You can see pictures of their work @districtcutlery Instagram. They also specialize in sharpening styling shears, scissors and smaller garden tools and axes.
