Ed. Note: If any of these are you, please email [email protected] so I can put you in touch with OP. PoPville is not affiliated with either party, please proceed with any potential connection at your own risk using caution as you would any online encounter. For those curious about past missed connections, some have been made and when possible I’ll try to update when/if more are made. The Recessions karaoke MC was made!

“Dear PoPville,

Feeling like a total bozo reaching out with a missed connection but hell after 12 years in DC here we are 🤷‍♀️. I was walking my dog on the trail near Peirce Mill yesterday (Wednesday) around 4pm when a guy stopped straight in the middle of his run to ask if my pup was a TWC (Treeing Walker hound — yes, he is!). We chatted for a few about his brother’s dog and then he seemed to realize he had been in the middle of something (you know, running shirtless and gorgeous through Rock Creek). Don’t wanna be a weirdo if he was just being nice (which is lovely!) but thought I’d put the vibe out just in case.”

“Taking a chance here. It was Saturday around 1:00 pm. We were at 11 and L and made eyes at each for a while as you kept walking East and I was stuck on the opposite side of the street with my friend. You were tall, dark haired, handsome, gray sweats, and carrying a Whole Foods bag. It would be nice to say hello this time.”

“I was getting some work done this morning (Tuesday) at For Five Coffee on L St. in the West End. I, the brunette wearing work from home clothes (orange sweatshirt, black leggings) was very focused on my laptop, but when I looked up, I saw you, the handsome blonde guy in a gray sweatshirt, standing in line and looking my way. It looked like you were in a business meeting, otherwise I would’ve said hi! If you see this, I’d be interested in getting coffee sometime!”

Finding a gift for moms can be difficult. Google “Mother’s Day gifts,” and you’ll scroll through endless lists of beauty products, candles and fuzzy robes. Sure, those are sweet, but sometimes it’s fun to surprise loved ones with something a little more, well, practical!

Here’s one idea: Give her a gift certificate for a home cleaning from Well-Paid Maids. It’s the perfect “thank you,” “I love you” or “you’ve got this” for any mom. She can schedule the home cleaning at her convenience and breathe easy knowing she has one less thing to do.

Our cleaners will take care of everything, including vacuuming and mopping as well as cleaning and dusting countertops, tables, mirrors, appliances and more. Sinks, toilets, showers and appliance exteriors also get a good scrub.
