“Dear PoPville,
My friend was seriously injured (on a scooter) in a hit and run on Friday night. A witness reported the following and we’d appreciate if you could amplify. We are asking for any witness statements or camera footage.
“Hit and run on the corner of 1st and Bates St. NW at approximately 10:45 pm on Friday, October 1st, 2021.
She was taken away in an ambulance. The car drove away before any of us could get a good look. I believe it was coming out of the unit block of Bates St NW. So if you live on the unit block of Bates St or the 1500 block of First St NW and have camera footage from around 10:45pm on Friday, please contact MPD.
MPD said to use the anonymous tip line at 202-727-9099. They can also go online at mpdc.dc.gov or email [email protected]”
