“Rosie from 16th Street Heights after a rainy day mud romp”

“Having spent the last 16 months in Roxbury Correctional Facility in happy hounds prison dog initiative program, Oakley found his forever home in March of this year! After 2 days of fostering him we knew we couldn’t ever part with him, even though he cried all night for the first week. He had a home for the first 6 years of his life but was surrendered to animal control when he became dog reactive after getting attacked. He was in the prison program living with an inmate for so long learning new tricks and behavior skills so he could get adopted again, and had a few failed attempts before we found him. The goal is for Oakley to be my therapy dog, as I’m a clinical social worker, but for now he enjoys going through the trash, eating ice cream, and chasing the ball.”
