Shots Fired in Chinatown 10:15pm; Shooting 10:43pm near Nats Park

“On 6/16/20 at approximately 10:15 pm, First District officers responded to the 700 block of 7th Street NW for the sounds of gunshots. Once on the scene, officers found evidence that a gun had recently been fired and began searching for involved parties and witnesses. It is believed that a confrontation between unknown persons led to the gunshots. There are no reports of injuries at this time.

First District detectives are actively investigating this incident. If any member of the public has information or video of the incident, please contact the First District Detectives Office at (202) 299-2025, or the Metropolitan Police Department’s Command Information Center at (202) 727-9099.”

“On 6/16/20 at approximately 10:43 p.m., First District officers responded to the 1300 block of Half Street SW for a report of a shooting. On the scene, officers found an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The victim did not provide a description of the suspect(s).

First District detectives are actively investigating this incident. If any member of the public has information or video of the incident, please contact the First District Detectives Office at (202) 299-2025, or the Metropolitan Police Department’s Command Information Center at (202) 727-9099.”
