“DC Based VIDA Fitness To Close All Fitness Facilities Due To Covid19” Anyone know about WSC?

“Dear PoPville,

I know a lot of readers go to WSC. I haven’t heard any communication from them about cleaning/shutting down/pausing memberships, etc. What gives?

Seems like almost every other gym/work out studio has paused things and/or offered online programming.”

From a Urban Adventures Companies press release:

“Update on VIDA Fitness, SweatBox, Bang Salon, Aura spa

The Urban Adventures Companies will be closed March 16th until March 31st in order to help our employees, members, and clients stay healthy and safe.

We have been closely tracking the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in hopes that we could remain open to our members and clients during this uncertain time. All of us at Urban Adventures come to work every day deeply committed to the health and wellbeing of our stakeholders. This town is our home, and you are our family. It is for these reasons that we have made the very difficult decision to close all of our businesses effective March 16th through March 31st.

At VIDA Fitness and SweatBox, we will send out a separate notice with details on appropriate membership dues account credits based on the length of the closure.

If you have an appointment booked with Aura spa or Bang Salon, please rebook it after March 31st here:

Many of you have developed personal relationships with our staff. No doubt, you are concerned about your personal trainer, front desk manager, or hairstylist. Rest assured, all our scheduled employees, both full time and hourly, will be paid during this closure, without needing to use any vacation or sick time. We are thankful for all of our employees and appreciate their hard work, dedication, and commitment to Urban Adventures Companies. We will get through this stronger because we will work through this together.

Urban Adventures Companies is committed to helping you stay healthy during this time of great uncertainty. We realize that sitting at home will make fitness harder, so we plan to roll out the following services:

Online Classes
We will be sending you a link to online fitness workouts produced by VIDA instructors in a few days. In the meantime, you can access 95 free Les Mills workouts here.

Remote Nutrition Counseling
Our registered dietitians will be offering remote nutrition counseling that will help you stay on track. Information about the programs will be emailed in the next couple days.

Access to Staff
If you left anything at one of our locations, please let us know. We will have limited access on March 16th & 17th until 6pm. In addition, our staff will be working remotely, so please feel free to email, call, DM, or tweet us.

Ongoing Cleaning
While we have already increased our cleaning efforts and lead the industry with our cleaning & sanitizing protocols, we will dedicate this time to do a deeper cleaning in each location, doing all we can to ensure that a clean and safe environment is waiting when we re-open.

Facility Improvements
We have been investing in facility repairs and upgrades and they will continue during this closure period. Follow us on social media for updates on our improvements.

Spa and Salon Advice
We will be sharing advice and ideas for staying relaxed and feeling confident so that you can still feel good while spending this time at home.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate an unprecedented and challenging time. We will be in touch often with updates and information.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
