Take Your Sweetie to Woo at the Zoo

Tickets are selling fast! Reserve your spots today for Woo at the Zoo on Friday, February 14, from 7-10 p.m.

Learn all about dating, mating and procreating — in the animal kingdom, at least. Bring a special someone, grab a cocktail and dance the night away at a throwback ’80s prom.

Tickets include two hilarious, raunchy presentations on animal dating and mating. Hour-long sessions begin at 7:30 and 9 p.m. Choose your preferred session at checkout, but remember to come early and stay late — the dance party and other activities continue from 7 to 10 p.m.

Each hour-long session includes both talks, followed by a Q&A. The talks are:

Waddle I Do Without You: Penguin Speed Dating

Presented by Small Mammal House Curator Steven Sarro. When there are 100,000 potential mates to meet and everyone is wearing the same outfit, how does a penguin find its soulmate?

Performance Anxiety: Breeding at the Zoo

Presented by Smithsonian Global Health Program Director Suzan Murray. Breeding endangered species here at the Zoo is a science. How do we make sure the Zoo’s animals are getting down to business — and how do we help them survive in the wild?

Tickets include complimentary desserts. Guests will be given one drink ticket each for a specialty cocktail, beer or wine. The ’80s prom dance party will feature a DJ in a heated tent, plus there will be trivia and an Instagram-friendly photo station. When purchasing tickets, guests can add an exclusive Valentine’s Day gift to their ticket — a mini Adopt a Species package to pick up at the Zoo the night of the event.

Parking for event attendees is free.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
