Joe passes along the very sad news and fundraiser:
“It is with deepest sympathy and grief that we mourn the loss of DaMarkus Thomas, a beloved member of the Smoke & Barrel family. DaMarkus was kind, funny, thoughtful, and an all-around stellar man. His infectious smile could light up any room, and he had a knack for making people want to be around him.
No shift was ever safe from DaMarkus. He would always joke that everyone had a shift he wanted, and he was coming for it! We are going to miss his passion (and endless stream of enthusiastic questions) so much. He had an ever-present joy that is a rare quality and will forever be his legacy.
Please help us in honoring DeMarkus and his family. Any donation you can make to help cover the cost of hospital bills and funeral arrangements would be greatly appreciated.
