“Our Washington Mystics ran it back and brought it home! Each and every game this year, we witnessed a team of world-class athletes make history,” said Mayor Bowser. “We witnessed greatness on and off the court – perseverance and dedication to each other, to the game, to the fans, and to DC. Closing out this first season at the Entertainment and Sports Arena with a championship – that is the ending to this record-setting season that the team, the fans, and Ward 8 deserved. Together, DC, let’s get ready to celebrate our 2019 world champions!”

After completing their best year in franchise history, Washington, DC fans stand together in all red to support the Mystics on winning their first WNBA championship!

“As the official convention and sports authority for Washington, DC, Events DC is thrilled to celebrate and applaud the Washington Mystics as the 2019 WNBA Champions. We are so proud of the effort, tenacity and determination that these women displayed all season long, capturing their first-ever WNBA title for DC,” said Gregory A.
