“Opening Winter 2020 in Ivy City. 1408 Okie Street, NE”
From a press release:

“he Lane, a family social club providing a modern and stylish space for today’s families to play, relax, eat, and build community, will open its first location in Washington, DC’s Ivy City neighborhood in late winter 2020. The two-level concept will feature one-of-a-kind play structures for children, comfortable seating areas for parents and caregivers, exciting programming for the whole family, a café and bar serving food and drinks from local makers, and private spaces for celebrations, classes, and other special events. The brainchild of two local working mothers, Molly Nizhnikov and Rachel Lubin, The Lane will redefine leisure time for urban parents.

With the opening of The Lane, Nizhnikov and Lubin, will offer families a solution to the age-old problem of finding a fun, safe and social space that caters to the whole family. They will bring relaxation and joy back to young families’ leisure time. A café area will serve, coffee, beer and wine, as well as a thoughtful menu of pastries, baked goods, sandwiches and salads and future pop ups from exciting local concepts.

There will also be a catering kitchen available for special events, pop-ups and other food and beverage partnerships.

Special programming activities, events and classes will be hosted on a regular basis, making The Lane a social hub and gathering place for diverse families in the community. Future programming and events include indoor movie nights, music classes, drum circles, 4-square games, family yoga classes, dance parties, s’mores roasting, bubbles & bubbly, story time and more.

The 7,880 square foot space, designed by FORM Architects, will feature play structures and tactile opportunities for kids to engage as well as comfortable seating and amenities for parents and caregivers. Parents and kids alike will be able to participate in rotating programming and special events. Two private party rooms will be available, in addition to a 2,100 square feet roof deck, which will be open daily and highly utilized for special events during the warmer months. Taking a modern approach in its design, The Lane will appeal to both adults and children, with wood tones and bright pops of color bringing warmth to the building’s steel beams, glass windows, and tall ceilings.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
