Dress Ghoulishly Grand for Night of the Living Zoo October 25 to Win $1,000

Step right up for Friends of the National Zoo’s adults-only Halloween dance party featuring curiosities, grotesques and beastly good fun: Night of the Living Zoo, sponsored by Groupon, on October 25 at Smithsonian’s National Zoo.

Oh, and no big deal, but you could be the lucky winner of a cool $1,000 for your costuming efforts.

Err on the lazy side, costume-wise? (A beret and a penciled-on mustache, anyone?) You’ll still have a blast at this dark-carnival-themed party. Epic street performers — including a sword swallower, a fire eater, living statues, magicians and stilt walkers — will be on hand to thrill guests. Combine that with special appearances from some creepy (and amazing) creatures, and you’ve got a Halloween event that can’t be beat in the DMV.

Trucks will sell food to pair with craft beer and wine. There will be dancing, live-band karaoke and of course, that glorious costume competition, which is sponsored this year by the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

VIP guests also will enjoy complimentary food from local restaurants, an exclusive mixed drink and a souvenir. These special guests can get their fortunes told, indulge in treats at a candy bar, enjoy a private DJ and dance floor, and snap an Instagram pic at a special photo station.

VIP tickets: $90 for non-members, and they include three drink tickets.

General admission tickets: $40 for non-members, and they include two drink tickets.

For more information, and to buy tickets, go to fonz.org/nolz.

PoPville readers: Use code NOLZPOPD19 for $5 OFF TICKETS!

Hosted by Friends of the National Zoo, Night of the Living Zoo benefits Smithsonian’s National Zoo and its mission to save species.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
