“Bummed to hear that Blast DC is closing.”

Thanks to Allison, Jackie and Hannah for sending:

“Bummed to hear that Blast DC is closing. Have loved getting to come to the studio once a week for the past year. Fun workout with kind and thoughtful instructors. Best of luck to the whole team.”

Blast Gym opened in the former Thai Kitchen space in March 2016. Updates when we learn what becomes of the space.

Full note from BLAST:

“September 29, 2019

Dear BLAST Fam –

This is without a doubt one of the most difficult letters I have ever had to write. Unfortunately we have lost our lease at 2311 M Street. This was a shock to us and although we have always had a very good relationship with our landlord they were ready to go in a different direction when it was time to renew our lease.

Today is our last day of business at this location. It is so important to me to convey a few things to each of you. First, if you have any type of package with us or membership you will be refunded either the remainder of your package or the pro-rated days of your membership in full. You will see this refund come through on the credit card you purchased your package or membership with in the next 14 days.

Second and most importantly, my team and I want to thank you so sincerely for being a part of our family for the last few years. Every single client that ever walked through our doors is so valuable to us. It has been an absolute honor and privilege to be part of your health and wellness journeys.

While it is goodbye for now, we are keeping our options open for other avenues in D.C. and you will be the first to know if anything changes.

I know all of you will also join me in thanking our incredible D.C. team for everything they have done and for giving their whole hearts to BLAST.

While I am overwhelmed with sadness, I am also eternally grateful for the opportunity I had to share my passion with you. I hope BLAST touched your life in some way- it has changed mine forever.

With love and gratitude,

Missi”
