Bring your family out for a day of fun!
Join D.C.’s creative community for the city’s first ever, Sound of Family Fun on Saturday, September 28, from 12-4 p.m. at 2241 MLK Jr. Avenue SE (Between W and Chicago Streets, SE).
Come enjoy live performances, food, family fun and support the city’s most remarkable creatives for a free event as they bring their stunning artwork and merchandise made in D.C. to stage.
The event is hosted by “The Sound,” Britt Waters, with music by DJ Dirty Rico, Verny Varela, Be’la Dona, Queens Over Kings, Side By Side Band, Shango Band, and The Experience Band!
The Sound of Family Fun is one of many celebrations apart of 202Creates, a month-long campaign led by the DC Office of Cable Television, Film, Music, and Entertainment (OCTFME) and the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED) to enrich D.C. communities through events, activities and resources.
202Creates was launched in September 2016 by D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser as a way to celebrate the city’s diverse and vibrant creative community with food, fun, festivities and family throughout the entire month of September.
202Creates strives to do three important things, “to promote and amplify the District’s creative economy and creative residents through digital media marketing, content creation and original television programming; to connect District residents with government resources, educational opportunities, and space to support their creative work and grow their creative businesses; and to build an interdisciplinary community by connecting creative District residents with each other through events and networking activities.”

Come celebrate D.C.’s creative culture!
