1:15pm Shooting in Eckington; 9:30pm Shooting in Carver/Langston; 9:40pm Shots Fired reported in Petworth

From MPD Tuesday afternoon (5/4):

“The Fifth District Detectives Office is investigating a shooting that occurred at approximately 1:15 PM in the courts behind 1743 Lincoln Rd. NE, the recreation center. The recreation center was closed at the time of the shooting. An adult male was struck once in the arm, once in the leg, and sustained a graze wound to the abdomen. The victim was conscious and breathing when he was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening-injuries. The suspect was described as a black male, between 18-30 years old, with short frizzy hair, a scruffy beard, wearing a light colored tank-top, and gray sweatpants. He was last seen fleeing southbound on a black bicycle in the 1700 block of Lincoln Rd. NE. Any persons with information regarding this crime is encouraged to contact the Fifth District Detectives’ Office at 202-698-0260, or the MPD Command Information Center at 202-727-9099. Additionally, information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.”

From MPD:

“On 6/4/2019, at approximately 9:30 PM, members of the Fourth District were dispatched to a local hospital for the report of a walk-in shooting victim. While speaking to the victim, the officers learned that the complainant was walking in the 1100 block of 21st Street, NE, when he was approached by three suspects in a black sedan. One of the suspects then opened fire on the victim, who sustained several gunshot wounds to the body. The suspect vehicle then fled the scene in an unknown direction. The victim was then driven to the hospital by a good samaritan, and is currently in stable condition. This case is currently under investigation by members of the Fifth District Detective’s Office.

The lookout is for three male suspects in a small black sedan.
