Your Afternoon Animal Fix – AdoPtville

If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share for the regular fix please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. AdoPtville is run by two volunteers who compile these pets weekly from local shelters.

Are you looking for a well-dressed, well-behaved, loving gentleman to be your one and only? Meet Boro! This tuxedo kitty is 11 years young, but that doesn’t stop him from being an affectionate and intelligent companion. Boro is a loyal kind of guy, and wants to be your one and only. Because he is seasoned, he is looking for a quieter home, where he can bond with his (adult) people and shower them with all the love he has to give? If this gorgeous gent sounds like a good fit for you, find out more about adopting him here.

Time to get some Dignity! This beautiful, 5-year old Beagle / Pointer mix is looking for a home to call her own. Dignity “exudes sweetness” and is still loving and energetic, while still calmer than a younger pup. Dignity gets along well with other dogs, and can be tested with cats if needed. She will need daily exercise and would love to make new friends at the dog park! At 35 pounds Miss Dignity is hardy, but compact. She will make a great companion – if you’re looking for a soulful, loving pup like Dignity, find out more about adopting her here.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
