If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share for the regular fix please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. AdoPtville is run by two volunteers who compile these pets weekly from local shelters.

Foster Homes Needed!
Many local animal rescues and shelters are in critical need of foster homes at the moment. While there is a year-round need for foster homes, demand typically peaks during mid to late summer, especially for cats and kittens. (If you’ve ever heard of “kitten season”- it’s a real thing, and we are in the middle of it right now!)
While DC is fortunate to have many well-resourced shelters and rescues, most of these organizations are foster-based and almost all of them rely on foster homes to help care for under-age, sick, or under-socialized cats and dogs. Furthermore, many area rescues assist shelters outside the DC metro area by bringing animals closer to the city where they are more likely to find homes. For almost every organization, their ability to help animals depends on the number of foster placements they have available.
If you’ve ever thought about fostering, now would be a great time to give it a try!
Below, we have listed a few local organizations with foster programs.
We’d love to hear from the PoPville community about their fostering experiences. Comment below to get this conversation started. Let’s see if we can save some more lives!
Thanks,
Jen and Kristin
