From a press release:

“Nicecream freezes their ice cream in front of guests using liquid nitrogen, locally sourced ingredients and grass-fed cream. With their first and second stores in Arlington and Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, Nicecream is opening their first DC location this week in Adams Morgan at 1787 Columbia Rd NW, and their second DC location opening in Shaw in August.

After building a loyal following throughout Northern Virginia, co-owners and JMU college sweethearts, Sandra Tran and Gilbert Welsford, are thrilled and excited to captivate ice cream devotees in our Nation’s capital! Welsford explains, “We have either won the “Best Of” or “People’s Choice” at the DC Scoop Competition every single year we have competed. So, it is about time that we take our business over the river to bring DC folks what they have been telling us they want – Nicecream!”

The Company is commemorating its first DC location by hosting a Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, July 21th from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM at its store at 1787 Columbia Road NW (across from The Line Hotel). The celebration will begin with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:00AM in front of the store. The first 200 guests to arrive will receive free ice cream and free Swing’s cold brew coffee will be served all day. There will be activities for all ages all day, including live music and free dog treats for everyone’s furry friends. Nicecream will also be hosting raffles throughout the day with giveaways from fellow DC businesses including: Life of Riley, Lou Lou Boutique, Xtend Barre, and Lululemon.
