Warby Parker opening 3rd D.C. Location in Union Station Next Friday

the old Nine West space on the first floor

First the Carpe Librum used book store opens and soon a spot to buy glasses to read those books when your eyes go to pot!

From a press release:

Location: Warby Parker Union Station, 50 Massachusetts Ave NE, Space M112

Grand Opening: Friday, May 11, 2018

Store Hours: Mon-Fri 8:00am -7:00pm; Sat 10:00am -7:00pm; Sun 12pm – 5pm

Store Details:

  • Union Station marks our third location in the D.C. area, preceded by our Georgetown and Shaw stores, and our sixth in the region, with nearby locations in Virginia and Maryland.

  • Inside the store you’ll find design details that pay homage to some of D.C.s most notable civic spaces, including museums, libraries and monuments. Behind our reference desk lives an original mural from D.C. resident and illustrator, LA Johnson.

  • To celebrate our new home, we’ll have a pair of Union Station-exclusive sunglasses: Topper In Crystal with Flash Mirrored Silver Lens (image below).

  • As you may have heard, we launched an app called Prescription Check last year, that allows you to renew an eyeglass prescription without leaving your home! Now at our Union Station store, any eligible customer can take a quick vision test in stores, with the help of an associate, and receive an updated glasses prescription from an eye doctor. *Note: Our Georgetown, Shaw, and Tysons Corner locations offer this service too. It takes about 10 minutes and costs $40.  Learn more here: https://www.warbyparker.com/prescription-check-store

  • About Warby Parker: Founded by four friends in 2010, Warby Parker launched with a simple mission: to cut out the middleman and sell high quality, beautifully designed eyeglasses–online, no less!–at a reasonable price. Since then, we’ve expanded to offices in New York City and Nashville, Tennessee; opened over 66 retail locations across the U.S. and Canada; and grown to over 1,500 employees.”
