“the suspect apologized for shooting at the victims over mistaken identity” Suspect Arrested.

From MPD (sent 11:45pm Monday night):

“Members of the 5th District responded to the 425 Rhode Island Avenue NE for reported sounds of gun shots. Upon arrival Officer contacted 6 victims who advised officers that a man displayed  a weapon at them and shot several rounds towards their location.  The victims further reported that the suspect approached them again and apologized for shooting at the victims over mistaken identity.

   Officers who were canvassing the area quickly found the suspect who attempted to flee on foot however was caught be members of the Metropolitan Police Department 5th District.  The victims of the assault then positively identified the suspect and the  officers recovered a loaded   Jimenez Arms 380 caliber semi-automatic handgun from the suspect.   Great Job officers for safely removing this armed gunman from the streets!!!!!!!”
