From WMATA:

“Mayor Muriel Bowser and Metro General Manager/CEO Paul J. Wiedefeld today announced that Metrorail will remain open an additional hour tonight for fans attending the Nationals/Cubs game at Nationals Park, as well as the grand opening of The Wharf development in Southwest DC, thanks to Exelon and Pepco.

The cost of the extended service – $100,000 – is being funded by Exelon, the parent company of Pepco.

After Metro’s regular closing time, four stations — Navy Yard-Ballpark, Waterfront, L’Enfant Plaza and Capitol South – will remain open for “entry only.” All other Metro stations will be available for “exit only.”

“Tonight, the District of Columbia will host a Nationals’ NLDS championship game and an exciting opening of The Wharf,” said Mayor Bowser. “We want everyone attending these events to enjoy their experience and have a safe ride home at the end of the night. Go Nats and enjoy the Wharf!”

“Our commitment to the D.C. community extends beyond powering our customers’ homes and businesses,” said Chris Crane, Exelon CEO. “We want to make sure they can enjoy these landmark events in D.C. and have options for getting home safely and efficiently, and we are pleased to partner with Mayor Bowser to make this happen.”

With the additional hour of service, the last Green Line train is now scheduled depart Navy Yard-Ballpark Station in the direction of Greenbelt at 12:22 a.m. The last Green Line train to Branch Avenue will depart Navy Yard-Ballpark Station at 12:48 a.m.

In the event of a rain delay, Metro will provide any updates regarding last train times through ballpark announcements, on Twitter (@wmata and @metrorailinfo) and via MetroAlerts email and text messages. To sign up for MetroAlerts, visit wmata.com/metroalerts.”
