If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. Your photos will go into the queue (usually 2 weeks wait) and will be posted in the order I receive them. If you’ve already entered your pet and would like to do so again – that’s no problem – just space the entries out a bit. Please try to send horizontal photos 640×480 (medium size on your iphone) if possible. If you’re not using an iphone any size is fine.

“Dixie and Dora are a pair of 7-year-old bonded sisters who recently lost their home due to family financial circumstances. They have lived together their entire lives and must be adopted as a pair. Both girls are even-tempered, gentle and eager to please. They love playing with toys. They are finding life back in the shelter a little overwhelming, but are sure to blossom in a loving home. You can find out more information at: here or here or email [email protected] and let them know you’re interested in these beautiful ladies!”

“Dude is friendly, even-tempered and loving. His tail is always wagging because he loves everyone and everything — people, kids, dogs and probably even cats. He is just a lover boy. He’d be a great dog for someone who already has a dog and is looking for a companion for that dog. Dude is 8 years old and weighs 63 pounds. He was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Beaufort County. Senior dogs are great companions who don’t need a ton of exercise but provide tons of love! If you are interested in adopting Dude, please email [email protected]

OMG somebody adopt Dude quick. No doggie that loving should have to be lonely. Makes me wish we could have another dog. (Who am I kidding; I already wish it.)

  • zipdc

Adorable!! Thank you for this feature!

  • DC

We already have two dogs otherwise Dude would be coming home with me today. We adopted one of ours when he was; he’s nearly 13 and still has a lot of life (and love!) to give. Please consider senior dogs!

I second the love for senior dogs. I adopted my pup when he was 10 1/2 years old, and he is absolutely the best. He doesn’t need tons of exercise and can entertain himself, but is also a total love – a perfect companion, basically. Plus, at 8, he probably has several more good years in him. If my place and budget were bigger, I would totally get Dude or another second senior dog.

  • Can I crash this thread with a pitch for beautiful Izzy? She’s been my foster for 7 weeks, with 5 kittens that are all about to be adopted in the next few days. She is one of the sweetest, calmest, friendliest cats I’ve ever had, and has been an exceptional mom! She is also gorgeous – looks like a Russian Blue but with golden eyes.

What a beautiful kitty Izzy is! Too bad nobody adopted her with one of her kittens.
(What color eyes do Russian Blues usually have?)

  • Tall E

They are all so sweet, wish I could take them all!

  • CVR

Since there seems to be a bunch of us that foster, it would be great for this to be a regular feature! Thanks for putting these guys up and I hope everyone finds their forever families soon!
