Your Afternoon Animal Fix

by Prince Of Petworth June 5, 2017 at 3:00 pm 8 Comments

If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. Your photos will go into the queue (usually 2 weeks wait) and will be posted in the order I receive them. If you’ve already entered your pet and would like to do so again – that’s no problem – just space the entries out a bit. Please try to send horizontal photos 640×480 (medium size on your iphone) if possible. If you’re not using an iphone any size is fine.

“This is Roscoe! He is a super big Nats fan!! (H St NE)”

“Pipian in Adams Morgan awaits a pet. Follow him on Instagram @pipian_kitty!”

Roscoe! I want to kiss your cute little face!! Go Nats!!

What an earnest look on Roscoe’s face!

Will Pipian accept a tummy rub, or is it a trap?

I am starting to feel like I need to get an Instagram for my cat — seems like half (or more?) of the Animal Fix pets these days have their own Instagram!

    • Yeah, I don’t get the Instagram thing. Can’t imagine anyone but me wanting to follow my cat’s antics, and I certainly have no more than a passing interest in looking at other people’s pets beyond a single photo or two, but there must be a market for such things?

I actually find looking at other people’s pets and posting photos of my own on Instagram relaxing. There’s virtually no politics and no unpleasantness, and most people limit themselves to a few photos a week. It ends up being kind of fun and you get to see the doings of a bunch of dogs and cats (if you’re into that) all over the world! And, just for advertising, ahem – @elvisistheshihtzu

        Heh heh!
        .
I didn’t mean to sound like I was pooh-poohing the pet Instagram thing — just that it seemed as though suddenly the percentage of Animal Fix pets with their own Instagram had leaped from like 10% to 60%.

        • Elvis’s Mom

Oh, I didn’t take it badly, was mainly responding to those who wondered why you do it. I get stressed on Facebook due to politics and bad news and such, so Instagram is kind of like my brain break of positivity. But I agree that lots more Animal Fixes are having the Instagram accounts – I think I may not be alone in needing a wholly positive social media outlet…

  • What a hunka hunka kitty!
    I love Roscoe’s ‘do.

  • Elvis’s Mom

Who’s a good boy? Roscoe’s a good boy! And Pipian is a fluffy stud muffin. A stud fluffin, if you will.
