Thanks to a reader for sending from 7th and Pennsylvania Ave, NW just before noon.

Another reader sends: “California plates edition”

If you spot a person driving poorly around town and get a good photo please send in an email where you spotted it to [email protected] and I’ll add it to the queue. People Driving Poorly is made possible by a generous grant from the Ben and Sylvia Gardner foundation.

well to be fair, we barely know what rain is, let alone how to drive in it!

    • maxwell smart

      neither do people in DC!

  • Wendy Testaburger

Does anyone know how the car ended up like that? Was the car on the 2 right wheels and got stuck on the pylon or did it jump the curb and land on the pylon. Just curious how one does something like that…

    • MadMax

      ghost ride the whip!

    • ah

Was trying to figure that out myself, as I walked by it. Best I could tell he somehow drove up on to the metal pylon/post essentially. Didn’t appear to have been hit from the other side or otherwise damaged.

Probably my Uber driver from last Friday night. Nice guy, terrible driver.

    • elbeech

You can report them to Uber, you know

  • navyard

I didn’t even know this was possible.

    • Hill Denizen

My thoughts exactly. How does that even happen? Like, literally, my brain can’t fathom how that car appears to have defied gravity.

  • maxwell smart

I will say, I feel like I experienced a more than usual amount of bad Maryland drivers this morning… must be the weather.

  • L

these photos never cease to amaze me.

  • lisavfr

at least he didn’t take out a cyclist in the bike lane.

  • dcduchess

I have seen some horrible and confused out of state drivers lately. Maybe he hit the small bumps next to the bicycle lane and it made him swerve?

    • ah

Not where he was – he appears to have been making a left turn from 7th to Penn, and the bike lane bumps are only in the middle of Penn Ave.

  • Wow. This is some “How’d you get the beans above the frank” ridiculousness right here.

  • Waymos4all

It’s like one of those M.I.T. pranks! Really impressive
