There were no events at the Verizon Center last night. Though if they moved this fighting INTO the Verizon Center, preferably on ice, I would pay a nominal fee to watch.

Nothing on the calendar. My theory: 200 people arrived looking for a show and, finding none, came to blows.

I don’t know about the Verizon Center but there was something at the Convention Center last night. Anybody know what it was?

Washington Career Expo. Women of Leadership Awards Gala. GWHCC – Board Match Washington DC.

        well that explains it.

How old were these people? Wasn’t there an issue last year of a large crowd of teenagers starting a fight in Chinatown?

    • MadMax

Replace “last year” with “every year” and you’re getting there. Chinatown is generally the miscreants playground in DC, it’s one of the few areas of the city I avoid like the plague.

Textdoc is good at researching. I am sure she can find the post regarding the huge fight in Chinatown around this time (I think) last year.

It’s also a b&t playground. One Virginian’s bugaboo could have bumped into another’s, and all hell broke loose.

Check Twitter… Sometimes fight meetups are posted online. Last years end of school fight in NOMA was all over twitter.

“Oh, those crazy kids. You know, you citizens are lucky it wasn’t summer gunfight season! What? No, we won’t be making arrests for summer gunfights, either. Have a good day.”

No arrests, huh? Sounds like Police Week to me.

This was definitely influenced by the production of Macbeth at the Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Sidney Harman Hall on F Street. Violence on stage must be stopped! Think of the children.
