On Tuesday, February 17, 2009, officers assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fourth District responded to the 5800 block of 4th Street, Northwest, for the report of a missing person. The missing person was identified as 47-year-old Pamela Butler of Northwest, DC. A death certificate was issued for Ms. Butler in July 2016.

On Saturday, April 8, 2017, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 51-year-old Jose Rodriguez-Cruz of Fairfax, Virginia. My condolences to Ms Butler’s family and friends. Having someone you care about “disappear” has got to be excruciating. Glad that the MPD kept at it, and that there has been an arrest. Hope this will bring some peace to those who knew her.

I remember seeing fliers posted around the city for her. So awful for their family. I hope this brings a small measure of peace.

Her poor family. I hope the court case results in an accurate verdict that brings her family closure. From other sources, arrested man is ex boyfriend, there was a history of DV, and family suspected him from day one. Unfortunately her body was never found. That has got to be hell for a family. May they find peace.
