From a press release:

“As protests against the Trump presidency continue unabated, a new photo book out next week, along with an exhibit that opens in Washington D.C., documents the birth of the resistance movement during three tumultuous days in January.

UnPresidented: The Inauguration of Donald J. Trump and the People’s Response” powerfully captures the emotions and passions that jolted the nation’s capital the day before, the day of and the day after the inauguration. Trump’s ascendancy to the most powerful job in the world was met with rioting, peaceful civil disobedience and one of the largest protest marches in U.S. history.

The 152-page hardcover coffee table book, which was financed by a successful Kickstarter campaign (it finished as the 58th most backed photo book ever on Kickstarter), goes on sale Wednesday on Amazon. An exhibit featuring 44 black and white images from the book opens the same week at Gallery O on H Street. The gallery is hosting an opening reception at 7 p.m. on April 28, the eve of President Trump’s 100th day in office. The exhibit will run three to four weeks.

More than 30 photographers contributed images for the book, including internationally recognized street photographer Chris Suspect and award-winning photographers Lloyd Wolf, Mukul Ranjan, Victoria Pickering, Arpita Upadhyaya, Tatiana Gulenkina and Reuben Radding, to name a few of the contributors who have been recognized for their past work.

Several photographers who appear in UnPresidented have already had their inauguration photos honored in contests sponsored by Exposed DC and GlenEcho Photoworks.

As a way to show their support for social justice, the contributing photographers have agreed that net profits from the book will benefit Critical Exposure, a nonprofit organization that trains D.C students to use photography and advocacy to make real change in their schools and communities.

Cosmic Smudge Media, the book’s publisher, is donating $2,000 to Critical Exposure with the goal of giving the organization another check next year based on book sales. Likewise, Gallery O has pledged to donate 10 percent of its proceeds from the exhibit to Critical Exposure, as well.”
