I saw a huge hawk over the weekend up in Takoma (7500 block of 9th St NW). It was the first time I’ve (knowingly) seen a hawk in person in DC. Unfortunately I was too slow to get a picture.

Nice Retailed Hawk (notice the “belly band” field mark). I actually saw one hunting rats at Euclid and 13th street, nw. Pretty cool!
