Am I missing something, why are they spelling it incorrectly? It’s poke, not poki.

    • Cleveland Park runner

Yeah I don’t know why they’re spelling it that way, either. That’s not how it’s spelled or even pronounced. Regardless, Imma try their food. Poke is delicious.

      • Hill Denizen

It’s closer to how most people think it’s pronounced….and I say that as someone who’s made that mistake.

    • Truxton Thomas

And why not just say “we know what you’ve been craving”? The “for” is superfluous.

      • Hill Denizen

        …and grammatically incorrect.

This must be the Hawaiian equivalent of the long-gone sushi place that was in Adams Morgan, Saki.

      • Tsar of Truxton

That place had a great happy hour!

And if I remember correctly, their sushi was actually quite tasty, for the Americanized sushi that it was. I didn’t care much for the nightclub it turned into at night and on the weekends, but you’re right, it was a great place for happy hour.

At least the Abunai folks spell it right… maybe cause they’re actually from Hawaii and know what they’re talking about. https://www.instagram.com/p/BO-aoMwg7TJ/

The Abunai shop will be amazing. It’s a good thing for my wallet that I no longer work over by where it will open.
