Thank you for reminding me again and again to look up, down, and around! It’s especially useful in stalled traffic.

Were you eating ice cream when you saw it? Because that’s when I noticed it. It’s really a nice building, and I’d like to live in the upstairs.

If this is the building I’m thinking of, the top two floors are packed with various antiques for sale. I think that whole building is one big antiques showcase. It’s definitely worth a gander if you’re in the neighborhood.

I wandered in to this store one day on a whim and was absolutely blown away. It’s more of an American history museum than an antique store. They have the death mask of Lincoln as well as the last standing portrait ever painted of him. Tons of Civil War artifacts as well. Definitely stop in for a look.

With those windows, I’d kill to live there!

  • Antique Shopper

That is a really cool store to walk around if you are stuck in georgetown with 15 minutes to kill.

Dumb question for the architecture / building geeks — does brickwork like that serve any function besides decor?

The building was Kevin Kline’s temp employment agency (later campaign headquarters) in the movie “Dave”.

@Joshua – Kevin Kline’s temp agency in the move Dave was on O Street where the existing 7-11 is now open.
