I love how these two blocks of 11th (between V and Florida) are turning into all cubed buildings! It’s a cool little neighborhood.

  • Linc Park SE

I think there is an identical building on Independence/16th SE – that one looks good!

    • Ally

I pass by the house on Independence Ave you’re referring to every day. Seriously love the design!

Wood accent is a nice touch for whats otherwise (probably) a run-of-the mill pop-up. I agree with the above poster that this part of 11th street has some of the best architecture in DC

Not to mention- those units are quite spacious. Well atleaast in the building next to it as I’ve been in the PH unit before.

    • charlie

yeah, just a shame Mayor Bowser wants to throw a homeless shelter in there.

      • Anon

Right? Homeless people will totally ruin the look and feel for those wealthy enough to afford $1m+ condos. Shame indeed.

      • GBinCH

Except this is a privately owned building being developed by a flipper…no housing shelter is being developed there. I think you’re thinking of the church property on V.

  • LedroitTigah

Looks like the building that went up next to the shaw’s tavern (each condo going for like $1.2m). To be honest, I think the building is ugggglyyyyy, but I think its because Im used to the cleaner profile Ditto uses.

Is it just me or does it look like the dumpster leans a little to the left? Doesn’t seem too promising if you ask me.

    • anon

It’s just you – the appearance is caused by the low camera angle.

      • Anon

It’s fine that you missed my joke, but your statement is factually incorrect. The slight hill on 11th explains the tilt. Camera angle doesn’t have anything to do with it. (Were this shot with a very wide angle lens, you’d notice some distortion, but that’s not the case here.)

    • FridayGirl

Ha! Yeah, I couldn’t tell if we were looking at the house or the dumpster….

    • Elvis’s Mom

It’s DC. 95% of us lean a little to the left, baby.

I like it except that weird wood accent at the top.

  • G. Willikers

I used to live around here and I’m happy to see that those three little houses up the block (on the other side of Children’s) are holding strong and not selling out!
