Wanna See what $42,000 a Month in Rent Gets You?

I was gonna pick a regular rental (here’s another good one in Georgetown for $1385) but I had to see what a $42,000 rental looked like:

The listing for 2509 Foxhall Road Northwest says:

“2016 DC Design House! Spectacular five-story, 11,242 square-foot home includes seven bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, two half baths, three kitchens, five fireplaces, sauna, exercise and party rooms, wine cellar, elevator, plus an infinity pool. Built in 2010 by Gibson Builders and designed by GTM Architects is situated on a beautiful three-quarter-acre lot.”

You can see more photos here.

This 7 bed/8 full/2 half baths is going for, well, never mind.

That is one funky dining area – those lights, that ceiling.

Do 6 other couples from popville want to go in on this with me and my wife?

Only $6000 per bedroom! What a steal!

      Definite Airbnb potential . . .

Pros: Butler’s pantry, the light fixture in the master bedroom (actually, the whole master suite)
Cons: location, all the rest of the decor

If you can afford 42k/month for rent – most likely you can afford to have a driver on standby 24 hours a day

        I like to walk.
Of course, at 11k sq ft, I’d probably walk my usual 3+ miles a day just looking for my kids!

Psshh – walking is so plebian

That’s over $1300 PER DAY….I’ll take the suite at the Four Seasons (or similar)…

If it’s good enough for the French Ambassador it’s good enough for me.

What is the occupancy on this house? Let me see if I can round up 41 friends to go in on this…

To me it looks like an institution. A fancy institution, but institution it is. Not a place to live.
