“High ceilings?” Assuming those doors are standard size (I mean as opposed to shorter, they definitely aren’t taller), the ceilings appear to be about 7’2″, maybe 7’4″ max.

I guess high for a basement? … but the legal minimum is 7 feet. I’m guessing the owners wrote that comparing it to basements they may have seen which cannot be used as a rental.

That said, not a bad 1 bedroom basement. I can definitely see this renting for that.

I agree it’s not bad and will probably rent for what they’re asking. I just find it ridiculous when they claim “high ceilings” when they could also rightly say “TWO FULL INCHES higher than the minimum ceiling height allowed by law.”

Better than many basements. They’ll find someone for $1,725. High ceilings is an outright lie though.

$1700+ for a basement in Petworth is still a bit pricey. Granted, it is a decent sq footage. But it also doesn’t mention anything about utilities. A lot of basement rentals include a good number of utilities – and not rare to include cable/internet as well. If all the utilities are separate, this is not close to a good deal.

Not to be too pedantic, but that is not Petworth. Its south of Rock Creek Church, so that is in Park View.

PRE-cisely to be pedantic. :-) but it’s only a short pedestrian perambulation away from Petworth proper.
