    Oh look our heinous national Christmas tree….. Why bother with a tree under that cone of lights. Yeah I know, a certain segment of the population will wail and whine about the War on Christmas but you can’t tell me that can’t come up with something less silly looking.

      It really is a travesty. It’s shameful the capital of the U.S. has such a piss-poor tree.

    I have always preferred going to the tree on the Capital grounds. It’s much prettier and no crowds!

      Yes, I concur. Each year, the ornaments are made by school kids from a different state. What state it is this year? I don’t know. Last time I went, I think it as Alaska.

        Ah, The Capitol Tree has its own site. This years ornaments (and the tree itself) are coming from Idaho! You can track the tree’s transit progress at the site. Let’s hope one of DC’s parcel thieves does not snag it…
