Adams Morgan PorchFest is Saturday

porchfest

From a press release:

PorchFest, a free event that turns the porches of neighborhood homes into “stages for a day,” is a national, volunteer-organized celebration of local music talent. Adams Morgan launched it in Washington, DC, four years ago and will host it again this Saturday, October 1, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Thirty-six musicians and/or bands will play at a dozen homes and businesses in the area.

Past performers have ranged from members of orchestras, to established local bands and future musical stars from local schools. PorchFest offers all kinds of music, from the Brazilian rhythms of the all-female group, Batala, to blues, jazz, rock, soul, folk and much more.

The Adams Morgan Partnership BID, with assistance from Cultural Tourism DC, started PorchFest to celebrate local music talent by bringing it to the streets where it can be enjoyed by all ages. With maps in hand (an electronic version is also available), music fans, families and neighbors can follow the music through the tree-lined streets of Adams Morgan to experience a wide range of musical styles, from brass and blues, to jazz and soul.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
