Your Afternoon Animal Fix

by Prince Of Petworth June 3, 2016 at 3:25 pm 14 Comments

If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. Your photos will go into the queue (usually 2 weeks wait) and will be posted in the order I receive them. If you’ve already entered your pet and would like to do so again – that’s no problem – just space the entries out a bit. Please try to send horizontal photos 640×480 (medium size on your iphone) if possible. If you’re not using an iphone any size is fine.

“Daisy of Cathedral Heights stopping to smell the peonies”

“A new discovery for Carl in Bloomingdale.”

  • Nonna

La Croix 4 life! Carl knows what’s up.

Until I saw the caption, I thought that perhaps Daisy was Mazie. Pretty dogs both!
The photo of Carl in the fridge is hilarious. “Hey, I’m going to the store… do we need any cat?” “Nope, we’re fully stocked.”

  • jim_ed

I see Carl has discovered Gold Peak unsweet tea. Your cat has refined and sophisticated tastes not usually seen in felines.

    • Dadric

This must be a joke, Gold Peak is awful. It’s like, do you even make sun tea, bro? The La Croix is on point, though my cat seems to prefer San Pellegrino.

  • bruno

    Daisy like peonies. Me too!

  • ET

I am going to assume Carl is the cat and this is not one of those photos where someone takes a picuture of a cat in their house and then say “but I don’t have a cat”

    • bruno

      That’s Carl’s job. :^0

Sorry, this is in reply to equidistance’s comment below…. oops!

  • I’m so impressed by how neat that refrigerator is!

Is anybody else grossed-out by a cat in a fridge?? Ewwwww!

    • Anonymous

Probably not what you are reacting to, but I tend to wince a bit at a photograph of a cat in a dangerous place, like a refrigerator or clothes dryer. Although, when I see the pictures here at AAF, I do assume that there is a caring and careful cat-parent behind the camera, and no danger that the cat will be trapped in the appliance.

Ahh… I didn’t have that feeling with this photo, but I get it when I see a photo of a cat hanging out in a clothes dryer. (Maybe it seems less likely to me that a cat would get stuck in a fridge by accident.)
My cat has never attempted to climb into the washer or dryer, but nonetheless it’s something I worry about. Particularly the dryer — as a kid I saw on TV part of a movie* in which a person was put into a dryer, or a body was found in a dryer.
        * I thought it was “Firestarter,” but I can’t find anything online to corroborate whether the film did in fact have that plot detail. From my googling, it doesn’t seem to have been in the book. In any event, it made an impression on me.

Yeah, because someone taking a photo of a cat in a refrigerator is going to then just shut the door and kill the cat.

Does anyone know what type of breed Daisy might be?
