I’m pretty sure if you catch it, it has to grant you a wish.

    • wdc

But only if your wish is a course of rabies shots.

      • LOL!

      • ANC

A wish is a wish, dude!

That’s actually really cool! And I know some people hate squirrels, but I love them, they’re antics and stubborn determination to eat. all. the. food. ever. just cracks me up!

    • LittleBluePenguin

correction: *their. Good grief, I need more sleep!

    • el

      haha I find them adorable.

  • Deebs

There’s also one that frequently hangs out on the lawn in front of the heritage foundation. So many privileged white squirrel jokes.

    • Juantana

yes! maybe he is the same one that plays in front of the Thurgood Marshall Bldg – damn that whitey gets around.

  • Mike

I saw one run across 3rd St. NW the other day.

  • jenster8dc

Gentrification, man. Where will it stop?

    • DCReggae

lives in a top tree, two bedroom nest with amazing views

  • Brooklander

There are actually two of them (siblings?)! They tend to hang out in the big oak tree near Randolph and 9th St. NE. My dog has some serious bloodlust for those two.

  • There are a lot of them downtown – franklin square especially. They’re super weird with their red eyes….spoooooky

  • anon

There is one on Virginia Ave and 21st NW.

  • Anon

I saw one in Rose Park a few weeks back! You could tell it was very highfalutin.

  • Llama

I actually have taken some pictures of one in our backyard and across the street near Grant Circle.

  • el

I see these guys all the time when I go on runs through Union Station/capital building area!

  • Boozehound

We saw one of these in our neighborhood in Silver Spring when we moved in back in January. We saw it about a week later but haven’t seen it since. Maybe it moved to Brookland. Damn hipster squirrel – leaving the ‘burbs for a trendy DC neighborhood :(
