“One of the largest studios you’ll find between 6th & 7th Streets, north of F Street and south of G Street, above the 3rd floor, but below the 5th.”

? If it’s so big, why didn’t they just make it a real 1BR?

    • textdoc

I think the unit has only two windows, so if they created an actual bedroom, the result would be either a living room, etc. with no windows, or a super-narrow bedroom with one of the two windows.

  • Eckingtonian

    What a dubious honor…

  • Rich

Basically just one pic of the unit which looks small for 620 sf. Note to owner/broker–you want light behind you or at least harsh lighting muted.

Anytime there are more photos of the surroundings and building amenities, than there are of the actual unit (in this case 14 to 6), I immediately presume this is not a good deal. That and you can get a mortgage on a real one-bedroom for that price.

  • Petworther

Sadly I think it will rent for that price.

I was actually expecting it to be more. If you work downtown and don’t have to spend a dime commuting, it’s not that unreasonable. It also has a washer/dryer, pool, gym, etc.

The photos of the unit are terrible. It may be a nice apartment, but we can’t tell from the pictures. (Why is there a photo of a rolled up mat on a closet shelf?!?) Based on the square footage, building amenities, and location, I’d say it’s a good deal.

  • Kate

Not a good deal. My coworker lives 3 blocks away in a brand new building and pays $1,800 for a true junior one bedroom (as in there’s a bedroom without a door) that’s larger than this. This is overpriced by $100-200 a month.

    • Kate

Also, I’ve been looking at apartments in the area and you can get a true one bedroom for this price in a similar building.

  • hupster

Uhhhh… does “courtyard view” mean just “faces in to courtyard” or also “at courtyard level so strangers having a smoke can see into your bedroom”? With those pictures, I guess we’ll never know…

That building is really, really great (pool and grills on the roof) and the neighborhood is great. (can’t compare to “3 blocks away” which puts you square in a much less desirable neighborhood) The courtyard view though could make the apartment quiet albeit really dark. The pictures are nothing less than atrocious.
