Your Afternoon Animal Fix

by Prince Of Petworth November 30, 2015 at 3:30 pm 18 Comments

If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share please send an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. Your photos will go into the queue (usually 2 weeks wait) and will be posted in the order I receive them. If you’ve already entered your pet and would like to do so again – that’s no problem – just space the entries out a bit. Please try to send horizontal photos 640×480 (medium size on your iphone) if possible. If you’re not using an iphone any size is fine.

Harper sweet

Sadly Harper lost her battle to cancer last Tuesday and I created the attached video in an effort to keep her spirit alive and prove just how awesome rescue pups are. She made me a better human, that is for sure. I hope this sweet little video can convince others to rescue a pup in the future.”

Beautiful tribute for your sweet Harper. As someone who just lost their own rescue pet (a cat in my case), your video moved me to tears. We rescue them, but they save us in so many ways.

  • LittleBluePenguin

Can’t watch the video as I’m at work, but Harper looks like such a sweet pup! And the kitties are just gorgeous!

  • Emmaleigh504

    Such cute kitties.
Harper looks sweet, I’m sorry for your loss.

  • Melissa

Aw, I’m so sorry for your loss. Harper was a beautiful pup–and clearly much loved. I’m hugging my two rescue pups a little closer today…

  • Abbey

I have to admit–I went into watching the video thinking it was going to be cheesy, but it was just lovely. Glad you had so many wonderful years with Harper.

  • MPinDC

So sorry about your loss. The video is lovely – it looks like Harper was having a joyful life.

    • textdoc

Agreed. She seems like she was a very sweet pup. (And I am impressed with her vertical running skills!!)

  • cam

Oh, Harper! What a lucky dog to be so loved. And what a beautiful tribute. Losing a member of the family like that is so hard. Peace to you and thank you for taking such good care of Harper.

  • This was precious. Made me cry.

  • kittycatbob

So sorry to hear about your pups, Harper. Looks like you did right by her and gave her a great life. Man, it sucks losing a pet.

  • K

Beautiful video. Much love to you this holiday season as you remember a life so clearly well lived. That squirrel is toast.

  • PetworthPanda

That was incredibly moving. I love that song and I never thought to put it to something so poignant as this. I hope your Harper likes cats because my Fluffy and Clue are gonna look her up; dogs because my Coco, Sunshine and Kali will as well; and rabbits, because Squirt, Dash and Lucas are gonna be there partying with her too.

  • jimmycrackcorn

Sorry to hear about Harper my family’s thougts are with you. My advice is get another dog asap it really helps the grieving process. Haper was a beautiful girl.

  • caballero

Goodbye, Harper. I hope we will all meet again in the great beyond.

  • Jill

I’m so sorry for your loss, but glad Harper led such a joy n love filled life! Loved the video tribute…what is the name of that song btw?

    • John L

Glad you enjoyed the tribute! It’s my all time favorite song. “Waltz (Better Than Fine)” by Fiona Apple.

  • Gumball

Oh man that video is NSFW. Thank goodness I’m not wearing make up today.

  • lm41

What a heartwarming tribute to Harper! Thanks for choosing to adopt and for giving her such a full and happy life.
