The suspects then noticed two tow crane drivers in a tow truck and attempted to rob them. As they drove off, the suspects fired several rounds at the tow crane.

The carjacked vehicle is a 2012 white Jaguar with Maryland Tag 9BF1929.

    Awful. Sorry this happened.
But perhaps a good reason to never go pick up a car late at night from the tow place.

Yes, that is perhaps the most salient conclusion to draw from this post. Thank up for your contribution.

no need to blame the victim. i’m sure the victim didn’t want to incur ridiculous charges imposed by towing companies for overnight fees. perhaps the victim needed their vehicle in the morning.

What a fine group of individuals.

  • SWDC

Judging by the character of most towing company employees, I wouldn’t be surprised to learn they were in on it.

Spoke to an officer this weekend in my neighborhood (Quincy/7th St NE), who said that one of my neighbors had been the victim of an armed carjacking on Sunday morning. My own car was stolen and recovered this weekend, but thankfully I was not carjacked!

  • blahblahblah

That’s terrible. Because the person going to the tow yard for their car isn’t having a bad enough day already.

    • I Dont Get It

      Exactly what I thought!

There was another incident at this same towing company maybe a month or so back, with a large police presence that partially shut down Franklin Street. Ai yi yi.

Crime in the DC. Is it me or is Prince of Petworth the only person talking about this? Where is Muriel? Where is the Council? All I hear about is the Mayor’s Homelessness proposal. That’s great, but what about me and my family?

    • Philippe Lecheval

And it’s only going to get worse. It might get a lot worse, since DC has the greatest income inequality in the country, and the gap will continue to widen.

She’s on a tax payer funded vacation in China with 17 of her cronies

And then Nadeau has the NERVE to specifically call him out and say he isn’t reporting the facts. I agree this is the one place that covers it all. Bowser did go to a recent Park View community meeting, but it doesn’t sound like she had much to say.

Said it once and I will say it again, I REGRET so much voting for Nadeau!

Was anyone at the meeting last night that Nadeau spoke at? I assume it was a political show as most of her “appearances” but did anything substantial come out of it?

One of the drivers who was shot is apart of my family. They have no part of the ordeal as he nearly died. He was shot four times with an AK 47 at close range and his partner, who was in the passenger seat, was just grazed (to my knowledge). They skidded away in their tow truck, drove themselves to the hospital, and barely got away with their lives. Let’s be thankful they’re not added to DC’s death total from fun violence.

    • kck

Glad to hear they made it the hospital and is surviving.

That’s so horrible and terrifying. AK-47?!?!?!?!?! I’m sure it’s a typo, and you meant gun violence, but fun violence is also depressingly appropriate. So much of the crime recently has so little rhyme or reason and seems to be just bad people out to inflict pain on others. This isn’t a crime of desperation and poverty, it’s plain inhumanity.

      • Dominique

Yes I meant gun** violence. We are just happy they made it out with their lives.

About 30 minutes ago (it’s now 1pm) I drove by Evarts on 10th. Between 9th & 10th on Evarts police have blocked the street and it looks like they are investigating. Several markers for evidence were on the ground. Anyone know if this is related? Seems very close not to be. But, these days…you never know.

  • JoDa

Dammit, I knew those were gunshots last night. There’s a plate in the road that bangs and I tried to write it off as that, but deep down I knew that wasn’t the case. At least I heard sirens quickly…
