From an email:

“To celebrate 1 year of muffin glory, Donnie Simpson Jr. at Uprising Muffins has combined two amazing worlds: Ice Cream & Muffins.

Just in time for summer and Memorial Day Weekend “The Upwich” launches today. You’re reading correctly: Ice Cream Muffin Sandwich!!! (2 Muffin Crowns and a hefty scoop of vanilla ice cream between them)

2 flavors will be offered: Chocolate Chip w/Vanilla Ice Cream & Double Chocolate w/Vanilla ice Cream.

Below are some fun number we’ve compiled for the first year:

134,440 muffins sold in the last year.
11,250 pounds of flour used.
Over 13,000 Bacon, Egg & Cheese Muffins sold.

Uprising has also launched the Elevation Blend Coffee – exclusively roasted by Ceremony Coffee Roasters. It’s a medium roast with a slightly darker profile. A combination blend of Peru and Mexico beans that is Fair Trade Certified.

Their catering program is quickly replacing “coffee & donuts” with “coffee & muffins” to groups of all sizes. Offering fresh baked, full sized and mini muffins, boxes of coffee hot or iced & large batches of savory bacon, egg and cheese muffins are making their round all over DC!
The Upwich is $4.99.”
