DC Bacon and Beer Festival May 31st

2015-B&B-DC-web

“Eat DC is pleased to present the Second Annual DC Bacon and Beer Festival on May 31, 2015 at Penn Social to benefit Food & Friends. Last year’s DC Bacon and Beer Festival sold out in just FOUR hours. The event features creative bacon-inspired bites and tasty beers from area restaurants and breweries.

Tickets are $45.

Attendees of the event will again be able to vote on a Beast in Show in restaurant and brewery categories. And this year, Eat DC will donate $250 on behalf of each winner to the charity of their choice.

Returning Beast in Show Art and Soul executive chef Douglas Alexander notes, “Bacon is very important at Art and Soul. We make around 300 pounds per week, and it factors into all our menus. Most everyone loves bacon, and showing up and taking the title at Bacon and Beer was something that we take a lot of pride in. The fact that we can also support a great charity like Food & Friends makes it even better.”

Co-organizer and local food writer Jamie Liu adds, “Our local chefs and breweries really brought it last year. I really look forward to seeing what amazing creations folks will be able to come up with this year. And I’m excited to be able to do more to help promote the great talent in our local food community and raise money to support people in the community.”
