From an email:

“We are excited to announce that sweetgreen, the collection of much-loved, organic, farm-to-table kitchens with 26 locations along the East Coast, will open in Navy Yard on Thursday, June 19th. To mark its 27th location, sweetgreen will be giving away swag bags to the first 27 guests to arrive on opening day. They will also soft-open on Wednesday, June 18th, inviting guests to “Pay What You Want” from 11am to 4pm with all proceeds benefiting FRESHFARM Markets.”

Yes!!! So nice to have a healthy lunch option within a 30-minute walk from my office.

30 Min walk? That’s like 14th and U to Georgetown. Cover a lot of ground for lunch…good work.

I work east of here… not a lot of options nearby. It’s not something I would do every day, but there’s a handful of times a year where I don’t have anything to bring for lunch so this will be nice!

Yeah, but this area ain’t 14th and U.

What development is above it? Anyone know where I can find a list/map of the developments in the area?

I think it’s all apartments above. The building will also have a VIDA/Bang/Aura and a Harris Teeter!

This is the same building where the Harris Teeter, Vida, and Takorean are going in as well.

Here’s a map sortable by development type: http://www.capitolriverfront.org/development/by-type/residential

Thanks! My girlfriend and I biked by there last weekend but we forgot the name. Were curious on the prices, etc.

I think pricing starts at $2100 for studios, and goes up to something crazy like $4500 for two-bedrooms.

Tried to post some links a few hours ago but they’re not going through. The JD Land blog has photos of the apartments if you’re curious.

  • Has anyone ever paid $0 for one of these things? If so, what reaction did you get?

BTW Sweetgreen has a nice mobile app you can use to order and pay ahead of walking in to pick it up! There is a Sweetgreen right behind my condo and I’ve been meaning to use them more often.
