Just to be clear, the house was built with its neighbors and almost certainly still has the identical brick facade under the wood siding. Very odd. Not ugly, but I can’t say I approve.

I thought that houses in DC could only have wood siding when it was original to the house – and grandfathered in?

  • That’s covering a nice brickwork, like in the neighboring houses. Would benefit from removal (not to talk about the termites and other insects living and nesting between the wood and the brick)

Very cool in an ugly sort of way.

What the? If you want a wooden cabin, move to the woods. This ain’t cute.
