If you have any animal/pet photos you’d like to share please shoot me an email to princeofpetworth(at)gmail(dot)com with ‘Animal Fix’ in the title and say the name of your pet and your neighborhood. Your photos will go into the queue (usually 3-4 weeks wait) and will be posted in the order I receive them. If you’ve already entered your pet and would like to do so again – that’s no problem – just space the entries out a bit.

Our Beagle with His Beagle

“Loki the Beagle from Mt. Vernon Triangle”

“This is Furry, she lives in Adams Morgan/Columbia Heights (16th St Corridor). I think the green crate really complements her tuxedo coat!”

“Have you ever seen an albino squirrel before? I was running on Upshur over by 17th street and had to stop to take a picture. I thought it was a bunny… but no!”

OMG, that picture of Loki and his little beagle is too too much.

  • the only time i ever saw one was also in the upshur/17th neighborhood. perhaps it’s the same guy :) you got a much better photo than i did- mine is just a whitish blur.

Loki + his friend = totally melted

  • Loki is adorable! My beagle, Sonic Elvis, sleeps with his Teddy Bear and cuddles with it too.

Loki and the stuffed animal are so precious. And I agree that green is a fabulous color for Furry’s coat and eyes!

I’ve seen a white squirrel in that neighborhood, in about the exact same place. I didn’t have a camera, but I got a good look at him. He was all white, but he didn’t have discolored eyes like an albino. I went home and looked online, and apparently most white squirrels are genetic color variants (just like the common black squirrels in DC). I didn’t dig, but there have been occasional sightings in DC.

I saw that squirrel on my porch this morning!

My beagle has that exact same little beagle stuffed toy (and often cuddles with it). Loki and his mini-Loki are adorable!

There used to be an albino squirrel who lived near the intersection of Kenyon and 17th in Mt. P. I used to see him/her all the time.

There used to be an albino squirrel at Franklin square (about 10 years ago). Maybe it’s descendants migrated north!

I’ve seen several white squirrels at once on the White House lawn.
